R

egale crafts a terroir-driven collection of elegant wines offered for taste and purchase at our winery and through our membership.

The romantic wine lover’s mantra echoes our core winemaking values at Regale; the finest wines borne in the vineyard and crafted by passionate hands and questioning minds achieve greatness primarily in relation to food and community. Every year we produce small lots of handcrafted wines from our estate-grown Pinot Noir vineyard and other remarkable vineyards located in California’s finest winegrowing appellations. Our wines typically show extraordinary finesse, provocative personality, balanced acidity and, remarkably, alcohol levels similar to our European counterparts.

With our primary enological focus on Pinot Noir and Cabernet, we also feature limited-production Italian varietals such as Sangiovese and Barbera as well as our popular Chardonnay. For a full list of current releases, please contact the winery.

Wines we Have Currently Available:

Pinots

• Estate Pinot Noir - Santa Cruz Mountain 12

Not only was 2012 a bumper crop for everyone, it also marked the first year of full production for the vineyard being its fifth crop. With the mild summer weather, we were able to leave the grapes on the vine well into September and the extra hang-time for the fruit produced great re- sults. The wine is very complex with aromas of dark fruit and tobacco. On the palette you find deep raspberry and cocoa with the medium tannins and long finish typical of the Santa Cruz Mountain Pinot Noir’s. While drinking well now, this wine will age for many years to come in your cellar.

• Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley 13
Once again the Russian River Valley retains its place as one of the premiere Pinot grape producing regions in the world. Our 2013 RRV Pinot is deep garnet in color with a bold aroma of violet and bright raspber- ry, cherry and cherry notes. The wine has balanced acidity and a smooth and silky mouth feel. The structured tannins give the wine a long finish with flavors of dark cherry and toasted oak. We advise waiting at least a year to open this exceptional wine but if you can’t wait, decant for an hour before pouring. 354 cases

• Pinot Noir - Sonoma Coast 12
Our 2012 Sonoma Coast Pinot is a classic “cool-climate” Pinot from the famed Petaluma Gap in the southern end of the Sonoma Coast AVA. In keeping with tradition, this wine is very aromatic with raspberry and rose petal on the nose and flavors of cola, black currant and apple spice. Right away you will notice the acidity in the mouth which gives this wine a soft, smooth mid palette and long finish. Suggested Pairings: Pan Seared Scallops, Eggplant Cous Cous. 250 cases

We are very excited about the release of our 2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.  The vineyard is located just off the Silverado Trail between Yountville and the Stags Leap District.  The wine has a bouquet of plums and currants layered with a hint of Mission fig.  The palate is lush with savory dark fruit and a bit of sweet oak and cedar.  The wine has been barrel aged in 100% French oak for two years and bottle aged for nearly three years.  You will enjoy the silky smooth soft tannins in this well balanced wine.  498 cases

• Ovation 08
For our 2008 Ovation, we decided to source our grapes from the highly acclaimed Alexander Valley appellation in Sonoma County.  This year we went with a three varietal Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.  The wine was aged for 25 months in French oak barrels, and you will taste the silky smooth tannins in the finish.  This is a complex fruit forward wine that displays that rich aroma of black cherry and tobacco for which the Alexander Valley is known.  The finish is long and smooth and this wine will age for 10 - 15 years.  224 cases
